Inspired by significant events in life,
be it her family experiences with cancer,
or the pictures of refugees and things lost in life,
B.v.K. ’s pictures express emotion in strong lines and colors.
The artist uses a combination of acrylic paint
with fabric, paper, tarmac or other every day materials
for her large scale paintings to reflect the story behind the work.
Multiple layers of color hide all or parts of the used materials,
providing the viewer with a focus for his own contemplation and emotion.

Often dramatic and sometimes quiet her art always exudes
a positive feeling and a strong love of life.

Bella von Krogh setzt sich in ihrer Malerei mit
Zeit und Raum auseinander. Die großformatigen Bilder
erzählen in der Kombination von Acrylfarbe und
verschiedenen Alltagsmaterialien wie z.B. Stoff, Asphalt
und Papier vom Versuch, Verletzung und Schmerz zu
durchdringen und durchscheinen zu lassen, die
Verlorenheit im Raum festzuhalten und sichtbar zu
machen. Unter mehrfachen Übermalungen sind immer
wieder Bruchstücke vorheriger Zusammensetzung zu
erkennen, die das eigene Erinnern anstoßen.
